Clinical Treatises on Disorders of Metabolism and Nutrition
Carl Harko von Noorden (1858–1944) was a German internist best known for his work on diabetes and diet. His clinical lectures came out in English as a run of slim monographs, each devoted to one condition and several written with colleagues. The shelf holds the contents pages and opening lines of nine of them.
A record of medicine around 1905, not a guide to treatment. Drink restriction for obesity, for example, is no longer used.
